The Inverse Proportion
Favoritism wasn't my favorite,
I suppose you could make that supposition,
Patriotism wasn't for patriots,
It was for all the believers claiming we didn't believer
Agreements weren't for disagreements,
Maybe they were,
maybe,
when we pinky swore that we would agree to disagree
Just as people do when they give in to the cocktail of the Fata Morgana,
when you become you become you become me
Promises were not made to be broken,
contrary to popular verse,
and these verses were only meant for reverse,
Things were not what they seemed,
Things were deceptive,
Then receptive,
Then back again,
You were not what you deemed,
But neither was I,
I suppose,
You supposed I would make that supposition,
I was sure of that,
certain of the uncertainty,
talking all the while about the buoyancy of a piece of lead
