The Stickler

"I took your advice," she said.

"What advice was that?" he asked.

"Everything you ever said to me.  You know," she answered.

"There's much to know here, very little you've actually made clear to me," he said.

"Would it anger you to know that I find this conversation unsettling?"

"Anger me?"

"Would it?"

"No, but it would confuse me."

"Why don't you remember the advice?"

"I give a lot of advice."

"So you don't remember giving--"

"What you're asking is if I remember you.  So why don't you just come out and ask it."

"Do you?"

"Does it matter?"

"It matters to me."

"And for what reason?"

"Reasons beyond my comprehension, apparently."

"Good answer."

"I wasn't asking for your approval."

"No, you weren't.  You were asking for my advice."
