The Triple Play



Three was an intimidating number because everything meant more---
or less, if we were on the subject of subtraction

Three times the effort
three times the ecstacy if encouraged
three times a crescent moon because it was more beautiful than the other two

He said, "There was nothing worse than being funnier the first time I told the story." Not being as entertaining this time around was an indication of lackluster imagination and an inability for consistency.

Thrice. Was a pedantic, ridiculous word. It was everything I hated.
