The Half Court

This one is for everyone in Mudville
and for Casey and his bat---
for all the unsung heroes here in Whoville
for each and every Hoosier with their torn and tethered hat

One miss, two miss, three miss, more---
saying all we did was paper toss
five miss, six miss, seven miss, sore

But---

"Will you still need me? Will you still feed me?"

Not when I'm elite
and not more
or when I'm bitter and sweet
But when I'm sixty-four?

  1. It's really for the over achievers, who hit home runs, score last minute baskets, hit 9th inning two out home runs and in general make life exciting.

  2. Now that poem has a lot of hidden meaning. Sorry to see the bulldogs go down. And a good lonely pic because it is lonely at the top.
