Never No Mind

There was no civility left here,
but maybe up there,
where we couldn't hear each other,
and I wondered why some people didn't have the desire to wonder,
didn't have the same kind of curiosity,

I wondered if they were born with less fear,
and so they held less curiosity,
for some reason,
I believed those worked in tandem,

maybe so,
maybe sometimes,

but there was myopia in dystopian mornings,
there was banality in reaching for the stars,
or at the very minimum,
an oversight of what was right about here,

or there---
