Death of a Denomination

Maybe we were more interesting than we gave ourselves credit for,
but probably not,
I think maybe we were more boring than we believed ourselves

Preoccupation with one's worth,
one's mundane details,
often leads to nothing more than hyperbole,
and a senseless notion of what is and is not important

Until one day,
you hear yourself out loud,
and then in here in the synapses,
where it counts,
and you realize,
you are loud,
and senseless,
and worthless,
to some degree

None of us were as interesting as we thought,
as interesting as the people in other people's photographs,

they were greener

but then again,
so was money
