Up My Sleeve

The trick to happiness is forgetting you ever wanted it in the first place,
and forgetting that you understood the concept of want

And if you learned to forget what want meant,
then you could navigate your way around loss

But then again,
loss was a tricky thing as well,

mastering it required the inability for premonitions,
and the need to not need coping mechanisms

But then again,
if we learned to extract sadness from the equation,
then we could circumnavigate all of this

And when our eyes well up with foreign bodies
and we don't know whether we are capable of crying,

just then,
and only then,

could we forgive and then forget,

each other---
