Classical music does not make everything nicer.
It makes everything rocky---
and unsettling.
Waffles do not wipe away what happened last night.
What happened last night was the cat's meow---
until it wasn't.
If you don't believe in the opera upon your first listen,
you will never be a believer---

Simpletons are much more complex because they claim not to be.

ReplyDeleteLike the play on complexity and simplicity. The piece is an enigma, in and of itself. Take stanza one and two for example – classical music and waffles couldn't be more disparate if they tried. Love this line:
