I think somewhere in 2047, we would be friends

or friendly

and all the expectations we shared today would be nonexistent

Somewhere under the dome of new plants

and in a place that didn't make comparisons to the Jetsons

and things that were never that great to begin with

I liked to show promise

because once upon a day it meant something

but it was expectation in disguise

and I was uncertain that forethought was in our best interest

or yours?
