The Fourth Season

There were reasons to let these things go

because there was always a reason for everything

even if we were not reasonable people

which we were not

at least that I could admit to you

because I knew better than I would have let on

when I was less able to reason

and bargain

and get down to the heart of the matter of it all

but that's because we were sear suckers

and heartbreakers

and people that wanted so badly to be hated

just so that we could tell someone felt something for us

even if it was something other than what we wanted all along

all along I knew these things

and these reasons for our silliness

and reasons for our well being

and lack thereof

because we were right to not believe in ourselves

until the last minute

which is when everyone does

in the wrong season

with their very unreasonable reasons
