there is a modernity in your writing that doesn't quite equate with the subject matter, however, perhaps it is that paradox that in some ways, makes this work, and not come off as cliche. The author's humor can be seen with lines such as, "...for all intensive purposes, we were...It's for all intents and purposes, moron". By taking commonly misunderstood phrases that are used all too often and twisting it back on the reader, you are essentially making fun of him or her and yourself at the same time. Love the graphic you chose for this too. Where did you get it?
