The Triangle

We were parked on a beach somewhere too beautiful to name
with our toes in the sand hiding the parts we used to be ashamed of

This is where we would age gracefully---

I was habitually late for everything
and telling you that I loved you just the same
was no different

We took a hot air balloon with no fear of the flame going out
because that's what you do when you're happy
and you remember how to fly

This is where we would stay gracefully---

The only ask we ever needed was your handout
and the erasure of my unaccomplishments

One day--
we, too, would revive the tragedy of youth
when it all set in

  2. Moody piece. I like the balloon imagery. This line was puzzling:

The only ask we ever needed was your handout
and the erasure of my unaccomplishments

But altogether, the theme seems to explore the disjointed nature between expectation and what actually comes to be.
