enough of this

and that

and this and that

and I couldn't get the thought of tie dances and being separated at an arm's length

that was the notion of 1994

but here we are---

somewhere far from then

and them

much closer in proximity

much further in our understanding of what was good for us

and years and years and years

from poolside romance lit by an underwater fire

and years and years and years and years from now

the backyard will be long gone---

will belong---

to another series of happy accidents
