Tomorrow was never as intoxicating as yesterday

because we had nothing to show for it---

It was full of uncharted territory

and differences not yet differed

Our intentions were still naive

and we couldn't count the number of smiles in an afternoon

because we didn't need to

We were still very far from the end

and very far even from the starting line

but still putting fingers up one after another in calculations

In a beautiful and estranged limbo

with no clocks and cold fake air that we kept begging for

that we were addicted to without our knowledge

You were the only one I wanted to repeat things with

and you were the only one who crawled in my bones

and unhinged my knees

And you were the only one who ignited appraisal

Tomorrow was never as intoxicating as yesterday

and it would always be more arrogant than today

because it could be

and cause was just enough for reason
