Cuffed

I could smell the murder on my fingertips---
It smelled good---
It smelled like accomplishment

I knew I had made some mistakes---
left some moose tracks that I couldn't remember
in the moonlight that wasn't there when I started

I wasn't very smart--
or at least as smart as I had imagined

That's always the case
but all I wanted to do before they took me away
was ride the swings at the amusement park

And go round and round
with the freedom of thought
and the wind on my face

It really was---
all for my amusement

  1. hi Dexter, nice to meet you. haha. Straightforward and to the point. The only thing I would change is the use of "amusement" twice. Perhaps you could just say, "...was ride the swings", then, "...all for my amusement."
