The Silhouette of a Shiny Man

Disappointment left little to the imagination,
little up here,

because there was nothing to contend with,
nothing to stand up for,

nothing to start a fight over,

because fights were futile when we knew what we had done,
and we did,

maybe not for them,

but for them

and I would always remember it as the happiest time of my life,
the time I was most progressive,

I would remember it without disenchantment,

because I knew what it would become,

something bigger than any of this,
and certainly bigger than any of us

  1. nice reflection and introspection here. This one feels truly personal. Love to hear what it means to you and to "them". I know exactly what you intended here. It's so true.
